Images and Where To Get Them!

Good morning everyone and welcome to this weeks Midweek Wednesday blog. Hope you have all had an amazing week.

Today's blog I'm going to talk to you about Images and where to get yours from to avoid any copyright or trademark claims on your items.

We all know what it's like when your sat there either designing a post, a stories, an image for a website or a leaflet, flyer etc how easy it can be to just go onto Google and search for the image that you want.

BUT DID YOU KNOW....?

Most images that are found in search engines like google are actually copyrighted and if your found to be using these images you can be done for copyright infringement and potentially be sued or fined by the owner of those images.

No one wants that to happen especially yourself.

So what's the best ways to get your images?

Below I have included some of the best ways to capture or get the great images you need and require for your design work.

The First Way:

The main way to ensure there are no issues is to go out and capture your own pictures or video footage depending what it is you are looking for.

So have in mind the image you'd like and then have a think if there's somewhere local you can go to capture that moment in real life.

For example:

you'd like a picture of Roses or a Lavender Field.

So go on the hunt for some local rose bushes or do a google search for local lavender fields and go take a few hours out, take any props or items with you, you'd like in the picture and go for it, I'd always advise you take quiet a few different pictures from different angels etc so you have a few to choose from when you get home.

Here's an example of a picture of myself in a nice field that was taken by a good friend of mine. This was done when I was wanting some new headshot pictures for my business and images etc.

Second Way:

The second way if you're unable to go out and capture your own pictures is to go and find some NON copyrighted or licensed images from the internet.

As i said before do not go into google images and search as these will be copyrighted or licensed. By all means if you're in a position to buy the image if its available to buy then go for it.

But here are a list of a few different places that you can grab yourself some license and copyright free images from.

-https://www.canva.com (has built in images and templates)

As long as when you go on the image it says you can download for free and its royality free you are able to use the image for whatever you need and you are not breaking any rules anywhere.

To Finalise:

Where ever possible it's always best to try and capture your own pictures to use on anything you create and share out there to the world.

Make sure your backgrounds are clear of clutter, a plain background white is preferred but not a rule. Or your in the right environment that you require for your desired look to ensure it looks professional and creates the right feel and look.

But always make sure you have fun, have a play round with different angels, heights, layouts until you are 100% happy with what you have created.

I hope you all have an amazing week and if your going to go out and capture your images enjoy it have fun have a laugh and make memories, take the family with you, get them involved. As you will all no by know i always get my daughter involved and joined in with what i do and create. It shows who you are and what your about and teaches them they can be or do what ever they want in life.

I'll be back next week with my next installement of my Midweek Wednesday blog.

Have an amazing week.

Always remember your strong that you believe
